SpoilerEditar sección

The quest starts with the NPC Telas, you can find him at Stonehome (go up here).

Required EquipmentEditar sección

Please note that this quest has a lot of missions which can be bypassed by simple buying the desired item from Black Bert, this is a bit expensive though. Some calculations can be seen below:

Mission Item Amount Total Cost
2 Mago Mechanic Core 13,000 gp
3 Elemental Crystal

[1]

10 80,000 gp
6 Golem Blueprint 13,500 gp
7 Old Power Core 13,000 gp
8 Stabilizer 12,500 gp
9 Headache Pill

[2]

10 3,500 gp
10 some ingredients 3 37,500 gp
12 Golem Head 25,000 gp
All Total 198,000 gp
  1. Because these cover almost half of the total cost and since Earth Elementals are not very strong it is suggested to get them yourself.
  2. These are optional and only save some time.

MethodEditar sección

Mission 01: Errand boy Editar sección

Telas asked you to get research notes from some other researchers. Go to each one of them and ask for it. Just say research notes.

After you got all the research notes go back to Telas and report your mission.

Mission 02: A vital part Editar sección

Telas needs you to find a Mago Mechanic Core. You will find one in the Factory Quarter (Yalahar). Here:

Go down 3 floors, on floor -1 you will find 2 damaged worker golems, just kill them. On floor -2 there are 3 worker golems, and they're usually roaming near the staircase, so bring a blocker and maybe some thunderstorm runes, or a sorcerer who can use rage of the skies to clear the room. Floor -3 contains 5 worker golems, but usually only 2 are near the staircase and the other 3 roam freely around the area, so you can just run past them towards the north, then enter the quest door, then down the stairs.

You have to shoot the frost cannons (telescopes) at the red Crystal Columns, (after you have used a frost cannon it will take 5 seconds to recharge), then go to the Core Dispenser (the "last step") and use it. If you shoot to a green column nothing will happen. It's best to just take one cannon and wait for that column to change colors, instead of running around hunting the red columns. When you shoot a correct column you will receive a Mago Mechanic Core. Once you have it, go back to Telas and report about your mission.

Another way to do it, is to buy the Mago Mechanic Core from Black Bert.

Mission 03: The right ingredients Editar sección

Your next mission is to get 10 Elemental Crystals for Telas. To obtain it use a Pick on an Earth Elemental's dead body - notice: not every dead Earth Elemental gives one Crystal. Once you have all 10, go back to Telas and report about your mission.

Another way to do it, is to buy 10 Elemental Crystals from Black Bert or from other players who have collected more than 10, players will sell them for a much lower price than Black Bert. It is recommended to manually do this quest, as obtaining the 10 crystals is quite easy.

Note: if your level is lower than 90 you can take the earth elemental extermination mission from Grizzly Adams and finish both missions simultaneously.

Mission 04: Gathering golem parts Editar sección

Telas gave you a Golem Disassembler to get parts of a golem, just use the disassembler on a Worker Golem's or Damaged Worker Golem's body - notice: not every dead (Damaged) Worker Golem gives one part. You need 6 Golem Parts, as soon as you get them, report about your mission to Telas.

NOTE: When you use the golem disassembler in a dead golem, messages like these will appear:

  • "You ruined the golem remains" - Nothing happens.
  • "Something was stuck in the golem" - That will make a rat spawn.
  • "You salvaged some scrap metal!" - You'll get a nail.
  • "What an eletrifying experience!" - You get shocked, but loose no hitpoints.
  • "You have salvaged a golem part" - You get a golem part.
  • You can also "resurect" the dead golem

Mission 05: Charged to charge Editar sección

Telas needs three different kinds of charges. To get charged, you need to find a Charging Machine. You can find one in the Alchemist Quarter, down here:

You need to go many times to get charged, however if you get a repeated charge you will get compensated by Telas. If you get a X,Y or Z charge, you will obtain 900-1500 gold. You will end this mission after you gave him the 3 charges he asked you for (A, B and C).

Mission 06: Out of the blue Editar sección

Telas now needs a blueprint of a golem to compare with his own plans. Head back to the factory quarter.

When you go down once more there will be around 10 War Golems in a room north.

There is a box on the opposite side of the wall which contains your blueprints, when you open the box about 10 more war golems will spawn. You will need a few people to fight off the war golems while each member of your team opens the box. Another good strategy is too lure them to one side, and run with haste the other way around and grab your reward. When you complete this mission, you can't enter the quest's room again.

Another way to do it, is to buy a Golem Blueprint from Black Bert.

Mission 07: Powering up Editar sección

The new quest door is on the west side of the alchemist quarter.

Inside the room, there are 3 Mutated Humans, 3 Nightmares, 3 Destroyers and 2 Plaguesmiths. Find a strategy to block or kill them to get to the core which is straight ahead of the door.

Another way to do it, is to buy an Old Power Core from Black Bert.

Mission 08: Getting things stable Editar sección

You must go to the sunken quarter in Yalahar and get the Stabilizer. When you are underwater, go south and down to the lowest floor. There is a new quest door on the right side of the stairs. Be prepared to face 2 Quara Predators and 2 Hydromancers on the way down.

When you go right there will be 1 or 2 Quara Pinchers in a rubble building. The quest door is in there and a few steps to the north. Go in and use the box.

Another way to do it, is to buy the Stabilizer from Black Bert.

Mission 09: Researching the ritual Editar sección

The library is in the center of Yalahar, downstairs near the quest door for mission 10 of the In Service of Yalahar Quest.
Your aim is to read some books in the library and try to write down the formula with the yalahari inkwell and paper in the middle of the room. Be careful however, it is possible you to fail and that can summon some kind of monsters like War Golems or Enraged Bookworms, you can be even teleported to ghostship. The way to complete it is to read 1-5 books in a row without getting a headache and then write down the formula.

If you get a headache through doing this mission, you can use a Headache Pill to try again, or you can wait one minute for the headache to wear off. The Headache Pills simply make the waiting time go away so it is possible to complete this mission without them. 10 of these can be bought from Black Bert.

Mission 10: The right ingredients Editar sección

Several sub-missions here (the order you get them is random; you have to complete only 3 of them):

  1. Go to Fibula. The quest door is in the northern part of the Dragon cave (north of 3x dl spawn) and get the Worm Queen Tooth.
  2. Go to Dark Cathedral. Past the teleporter, go north then east of it is a new quest door with the Shadow Orb.
  3. Go to Drefia's Grim Reaper's cave. The coffin with the Dark Essence is to the south-east.
  4. Go to Shadowthorn. Get the Bloodkiss Flower. The quest door is underground, same room as the Time Ring Quest.
  5. Go to Orc Fortress. The Animal Fetish is located one floor up in the mountain of Ulderek's Rock, (herefurthest top-right in the fort).
  6. Enter Hellgate below Ab'Dendriel. Here you can find the Deep Crystal. It is in same room of a single giant spider spawn on the way to Hellgate.

You could also buy all the items you've been required from Black Bert.

Mission 11: Take a shower Editar sección

The quest door is in the far south west spawn in the factory quarter (the one with Fire Elementals). Take care because here are many Fire Elementals and Worker Golems. Use that strange button for the elevator and get your shower.

Mission 12: Headless Editar sección

You don't need to do this whole mission at all (like all the previous mission). Instead, you can buy a Golem Head from Black Bert and bring it directly to Telas. After you do it, the whole mission will be completed without even the final fight.

The quest area is on Fenrock, at the northern end of the Tortoises' area. There is a teleporter.

You basically have to bring items to the golem servant, so he can repair the lift. But you have to be fast because the items disappear after 5-15 seconds. Bring a dwarven ring (because pillars will make you drunk), Boots of Haste and use haste. If you fail, you'll need talk to him again, to restart the collect.

Places where you can find needed repair items :

  • Gear Wheel - south east hole, crate to the south east of cave
  • Chaos Matter - north west hole, elemental ashes
  • Water - north west hole, you will see rotating water
  • Bag - north east hole, chest to the north
  • Giant Screwdriver - north east hole, weapon rack
  • Wonder Glue - south west hole, machine to the west of hole
  • Red Power - north west hole, locker
  • V-Belt - south east hole, chest to the right
  • Energy Net - south east hole, machine to the south of stairs
  • Grease - south west hole, amphora
  • Spare Parts - north east hole, in thing looks like grave
  • Green Power - south west hole, chest

Please note that the golem servant may ask you to bring the same thing many times in a row.

After that, you have to fight Rift Scythes , Rift Worms and War Golems to get to the quest box in the south. You should go there with a small team. Note: Four War Golems near the box are summons, they appear every time you kill them. Walking close to the wall will make it easier. Running through this room is not a good idea as you may easily get trapped.

Mission 13: Fruits of success Editar sección

Claim your reward after one Tibian day (one hour). Now you can use the lever in Telas' house. Down there you need to talk to Telas about your mission, he will tell you that you need to use the lever next to you, to activate the Telas' Golem.

Now talk to Telas, and he will give you 25,000 experience and will give you access to his laboratory which is the room with Target Dummys. You can also trade items with him now.

Dreadeye: Warn him that the consequences, for you both, will be dire if you fail to succeed in your undertaking. Your limited intellect cannot comprehend the importance of this. ...
Dreadeye: Even I do not know what this portends. But.. yet .. sometimes .. there is a glimpse. An insight that unsettles me. An emotion long forgotten.
Player: bye
Dreadeye: Bye. Think twice before you return here.

Visit to Milos Editar sección

Player: hi
Milos: Oh hello. I hardly noticed you. I'm afraid I am a bit distracted at the moment.
Player: research notes
Milos: Oh, of course I'll send him my notes immediately. Perhaps he'll come back and visit us here sometime. Do pass on my regards to him, won't you?
Player: bye
Milos: Good bye.

Visit to Scutty Editar sección

Player: hi
Scutty: Hi there.
Player: research notes
Scutty: Ok, ok. Considering how much knowledge Telas was willing to share and keeping in mind that he promised to send me the results of his research I'll make an exception. I will send him the information he wants .. even a bit more. ...
Scutty: He'd better live up to his promises, a dwarf does not forget or forgive easily.
Player: bye
Scutty: Yeah, bye

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: Ah, yes. I have received all the reports I need and have already been able to glance through them. ...
Telas: It will take some time to evaluate all those different approaches to the topic. Meanwhile, we can get on with the other tasks to advance our project. ...
Telas: when you are ready, just ask me for your next mission.

Mission 02: A vital part Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: I hate to admit it, but I am still unable to create some of the necessary parts. Unfortunately, modern day technology just doesn't have the complexity to recreate the Yalaharian mago-mechanic cores. ...
Telas: However, I do need to find out whether my other components function properly, so for my first attempt, an existing core will have to do. Unfortunately, we can't just go to Yalahar and ask for one. ...
Telas: The Yalahari are not known for sharing their knowledge willingly. On the other hand, much of their machinery is not even used these days. ...
Telas: Can you search in their factory quarter for some of the cores? But, pay attention now! The cores are not that easy to get ...
Telas: According to my research, while the cores are being used, they are incredibly hot so you can't just remove one. Also, the Yalahari have added additional security and maintenance-friendly mechanisms. ...
Telas: In each machine that uses cores, they have installed what I would call cooler cannons. ...
Telas: The cannons can be used to cool overheated cores or cool down a normal core so it can be removed for maintenance. There are two drawbacks though. ...
Telas: First you need to hit the core with the cooler cannon when it reaches the correct temperature. ...
Telas: If you shoot too early it will be frozen in place and the system won't be able to remove it. ...
Telas: The second drawback is that the cannon uses enormous amounts of energy, so you can only fire it every few seconds and will have to wait until it is fully recharged. ...
Telas: If you hit the core while it is red hot it will cool down to room temperature and can be removed from the machine, but the system will replace it with another immediately. You should be able to get the cooled and inactive core from a nearby dispenser. ...
Telas: As far as I can tell the core should remain inactive and do nothing funny like spontaneously overheat and fry you or something equally unpleasant.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: Ah, a mago mechanic core. A true marvel of Yalahari science. One day, my friend, we will be able to build our own. ...
Telas: My understanding is growing daily. For now we will incorporate this core into our construction. ...
Telas: You have proven yourself to be incredibly helpful. More missions await you.

Mission 03: The right ingredients Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: A golem's major power source is a mix of elemental forces. ...
Telas: Most of the elements need only a low concentration of purity but the earth component, which is the overriding element in a Yalaharian golem, requires a huge amount of very pure concentrate. ...
Telas: That is why crystals are often fused into the golem's body. ...
Telas: Could you get me some elemental crystals? Use an ordinary pick axe on a slain earth elemental. With some luck you will gain an elemental shard. ...
Telas: Ten of them should be enough for me to create an elemental crystal.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: So you have brought me all 10 shards for the core! That is one step further towards the construction of our very own golem! Without your help I would never have made it this far. ...
Telas: I wish your next mission were less dangerous but sadly it isn't. But more about that when we talk about your next mission.

Mission 04: Gathering golem parts Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: I always find new things in the Yalaharian metallurgy to amaze me. In order to construct parts that are even remotely similar I had to spend a fortune and wait years for a dwarven smith to finish them. ...
Telas: Luckily, there is a much cheaper source for even better material: existing golems. There are quite a few running aimlessly through Yalahar and posing a threat to unwary travellers. ...
Telas: So by disabling those golems not only do we further our research but we also do something to clean up the city's golem problem! I'll lend you this golem-disassembler. ...
Telas: When you have killed a golem wait a moment until all of his systems shut down. Then use the disassembler on his corpse. ...
Telas: But, be careful! If you wait too long the parts will lose their charges and be worthless. ...
Telas: Chances are that the disassembler will only produce scrap metal but now and then you'll get a golem part. I need six of them to make any progress in my work.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: Ah, with your newest acquisition you have brought me 6 golem parts. With that we are done and can continue with your next mission.

Mission 05: Charged to charge Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: Well, this one is somewhat hard to explain. The power core of the golem needs some specific charges to make it work. The good news is that I have discovered the perfect carrier for the charge. ...
Telas: The bad news is, it's you! Well, let me elaborate: I need three different charges. ...
Telas: You can charge yourself by walking though a charge generator. One of these can be found in the alchemists' quarter. ...
Telas: Get yourself charged and return to me. I will suck the charge into one of my own inventions and can tell you if you carried one of the three charges we needed. ...
Telas: Unfortunately, the machine may charge you in two further ways to the three charges we actually need. The other two charges are of no use to our project. ...
Telas: But, on the positive side, each charge that we don't need can be sold to other scientists and I am willing to share some gold with you for your efforts.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

You get a random charge, it may not be in this order!

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission

Answer to A-charge:
Telas: Excellent. You brought an A-charge. Just what we needed.

Answer to B-charge:
Telas: Exemplary! A B-charge! Incredible!

Answer to C-charge:
Telas: We have got a major C-charge! Excellent!

Answer to X-charge:
Taffy Updated: Telas: Oh, that's an X-charge. Nevermind. Although we don't need it, the academy might use it for their lightning research. Here is your share of the money I'll get from reselling it. That makes 1500 gold.

Answer to Y-charge (you do not need this charge to do the mission):
Telas: Though this Y-charge is quite rare we don't need it for our research. However, some independent researchers will be willing to part with a fair amount of coin for it. I'll advance you 1200 gold. I'm sure I'll get that much back from my colleague.

Answer to a charge that you already returned to Telas:
Telas: Hm, that is another A/B/C-charge. Though it won't advance our project it will bring us a good price from other researchers. I will give you 900 gold for that charge.

After returning A-, B- AND C-charges:
Player: mission
Telas: We are finished with collecting charges! Now we can proceed and your next mission awaits you!

Mission 06: Out of the blue Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: I need a blueprint of a golem to compare with my own plans. I need to figure out where problems might arise. Please search the factory quarter for some blueprints that I can use.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: Yes, you've got them! That will aid my understanding of the construction of a golem. But there is still a lot to do and new missions waiting.

Mission 07: Powering up Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: In order to understand a Yalaharian power core I have to disassemble one. I think there are still some old and burnt out power cores to be found in the alchemists' quarter of Yalahar. Please get me one, the state of the core is not that important.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: Phenomenal! That's precisely what we need. A bit tattered and rusty but it will do perfectly. While I am busy with this, you can get on with some other missions.

Mission 08: Getting things stable Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: I hope to save myself the effort of reinventing a stabilizer small enough to fit into the golem. I will have to get an original Yalahari stabilizer or be forced to create a four legged golem, which clearly won't do. ...
Telas: Therefore, I need you to search the sunken quarter for a stabilizer.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: Phenomenal! You must have good eyesight to have spotted this little fellow. However, don't mind my mumbling. New missions await you.

Mission 09: Researching the ritual Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: While visiting Yalahar I discovered one of their libraries in the magicians' quarter. I solved the logic puzzle that prevented unwanted intruders and began to study their rituals. ...
Telas: I was THAT close to reconstructing the ritual when one of the Yalahari, Azerus, discovered me and had me thrown out of the city. I think all those guardian golems know me now and I can't show my face there any more ...
Telas: You, on the other hand, can! I will tell you how to open the puzzle lock so you can enter the library. ...
Telas: I fear that the Yalahari may have posted some Golems there as guards so you'll have to fight them to use the library undisturbed. Your mission is to reconstruct the ancient golem ritual from their books. ...
Telas: There are hints scattered throughout the books in the library. Be warned! Yalahari literature is not easy reading! You might get a headache, which will make you forget what you just read. ...
Telas: The chances of recreating the ritual are greater the more you read. On the other hand the more books you read the more likely it is that you'll get a headache and forget everything you have learned. ...
Telas: If you get a headache you will have to wait a minute or two for it to wear off before you can continue. There are rumors about headache pills on the black market, but I have no idea where to find one. ...
Telas: When you feel ready to recreate the ritual use the scribe's desk in the center of the room. You'll know when you have been successful.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: Impressive! To be honest, I feared a bit for your sanity, but you made it! And you are still healthy and sane! Well, at least I hope so. I fully understand if you want to take a few days off before you continue with your next mission.

Mission 10: The right ingredients Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: Yalahari rituals are quite complicated and need certain reagents that are not readily available nowadays. I think I can come up with some substitutes for most of them though. ...
Telas: Specifically, three items need to be replaced. Are you ready for your first mission?

In this mission you have to collect 3 random items, it's missing transcripts of some of the possible items.

First Assignment Editar sección

Player: yes
Telas: I am convinced that the tooth from a long dead rotworm queen will make an apt replacement for one of the more exotic ingredients in the Yalahari ritual. The books in the Edron academy suggest that the most likely place to find one might be deeper Fibula.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: My, this rotworm tooth looks old. But the older the better. It will certainly be sufficient for our ritual.

Second Assignment Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: Are you up to your second assignment?
Player: yes
Telas: One of the components is a shadow orb. So far, I have had no luck acquiring one. I even tried one of my more dubious contacts but he refused, saying that he would only mess with the guys in the dark cathedral if he had a death wish'. ...
Telas: I think if you find this dark cathedral you might find a shadow orb.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: Ah, a perfect shadow orb! This is exactly what we need.

Third Assignment Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: Ready for your third assignment?
Player: yes
Telas: Some of the elves of Shadowthorn cultivate a plant known as bloodkiss. I need one sample for the ritual.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: What a beautiful flower. A shame that we have to destroy it in the ritual.
Player: mission
Telas: Finally! You have brought all the ingredients we need! We can talk about your next mission whenever you like.

Animal Fetish Assignment Editar sección

(you got animal fetish)

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission

Telas: Phew. That fetish stinks. I'd better put it into some sort of container.

Mission 11: Take a Shower Editar sección

Player: mission
Telas: I am disheartened. All my efforts to get this golem to function have been in vain! There is still something missing. Were I not a scientist I'd say it was the soul. ...
Telas: I can't get the brain patterns working and without that a golem is just a useless shell. ...
Telas: At the moment I would settle for some existing brain patterns but the golems that are still around seem to lack the sophisticated brain patterns needed to meld with my creation. There is one final hope though. ...
Telas: While I was doing my research in Yalahar I stumbled upon reports about a remote scientific outpost of the Yalahari. There they were experimenting with something they called MI, short for magical intelligence. ...
Telas: That should create some far more intelligent golems. I desperately need one of those golem's heads. The base has to be somewhere beneath the isle, nowadays is known as Fenrock. ...
Telas: Unfortunately, I believe that you have to be a Yalahari or a Yalaharian servant to enter the complex. ...
Telas: However, on the bright side, in the course of doing these missions you have been charged with Yalahari energy, read their mind twisting books and have come into contact with much of their technology. ...
Telas: Additionally, there are electric showers that were often used by Yalaharian scientists. I have found out that one of the few electric showers that are still working is somewhere in the factory quarter. ...
Telas: First, you will have to use it on yourself, then report back to me. I will use an ancient Yalahari device on you to amplify all the Yalahari characteristics you have acquired. ...
Telas: Our only slim hope is that this might fool the system enough to allow you to enter the complex.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: Ah, yes. My instruments tell me you have taken the shower! Are you ready to receive the amplifying charge?

Mission 12: Headless Editar sección

Player: yes
Telas: It's done! I really hope that will be enough to enter the complex. It is probably somewhere in the underground of Fenrock. I have no idea what you might find there but look for a golem's head and bring it to me.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: The head! You've got it! Incredible! Now we have everything we need! Give me a Tibian day to prepare everything for the activation process, then meet me here again.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

(wait 1 hour)

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: We have made it, my friend! We have everything we need to reconstruct a Yalaharian golem! This is a great day for science. ...
Telas: Without your help none of this would have been possible. We will both take our place in history soon. Meet me downstairs in my laboratory. ...
Telas: The honour of activating the golem shall belong to you, my friend.
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Mission 13: Fruits of success Editar sección

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
Player: mission
Telas: It was a long and perilous road, my friend, but we made it! I assure you, without your help this would never have been possible. Now do it my friend! Pull the lever and give life to our masterpiece!
Player: bye
Telas: Good bye, Player.

Player: hi
Telas: Hello!
